Makreri Subramanya Temple is the only temple in Kerala where
the main thanthri (Pujari) is Hanuman. Hanuman, in Thretha
Yugam, has installed the main deity and He still does all the Pujas.
Hence the power of this temple is unimaginable, though it is in the
interiors and known to lesser number of people.
This temple is situated in a place called Makreri (short form of
Markkadasseri) near Tellicherry in the district of Cannanore in
Kerala. Even though this place is in a remote location from the
main town, the temple has been determined by experts to be
thousands of years old.
